Why You Get Comped on One Cruise Line but Not Another

Many guests ask us: "I always get comped cruises on Carnival. Why not on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity?" It is a great question, and here is the honest answer.

Cruise lines like Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, and Celebrity Cruises each have completely different casino programs, player evaluation systems, and marketing budgets.

1. Your play is not universal

Each cruise line evaluates your casino play independently. Being a strong player on one line does not automatically qualify you for comps on another.

2. Different brands, different player expectations

• Carnival Cruise Line tends to be more aggressive with entry-level and mid-tier offers.
• Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises often require a higher ADT for similar comps, especially on premium ships and itineraries.

3. It is about ADT, not history

Casinos do not comp you based on what you received before. They comp you based on what you consistently play now. If your ADT does not meet a specific brand's threshold, offers will be limited or non-existent.

4. Not all comps are equal

A "free cruise" on one line may reflect a different level of play than a "free cruise" on another. The value and criteria behind each offer are not the same.

Comp offers are brand-specific, data-driven, and based on your current play level. Loyalty to one cruise line does not automatically transfer to another.
