How to Improve Your ADT
It is not just how much you gamble, it is how you gamble

This is one of the questions casino players ask me most: how do I improve my ADT?
Your ADT (Average Daily Theoretical) drives your offers, comps, and casino perks. To improve it, focus not just on how much you gamble, but on how you gamble.
What raises your ADT
- Play fewer days, with longer sessions. Spreading your play across many short sessions over multiple days can lower your daily average.
- Concentrate your play. Stick to one casino, or one loyalty program such as Caesars or MGM, so your ADT is not diluted across different systems.
- Always insert your card. No card means no tracking, and no credit toward your ADT.
- Play under one account and one host, so your play history is tracked accurately.
- Skip the card for a quick visit. If you pop in for 10 to 15 minutes, leave your card out. A tiny session can drag down your average.
Why the same bet rates differently
Theo is calculated from your bets and the house edge of the game. Games with a higher house edge, such as most slots and roulette, generate more theo per dollar than lower-edge games like blackjack or video poker. That is why two players with the same bankroll can end up with very different ratings. It is a good reason to understand the games you play, not a reason to chase a higher house edge. Always play responsibly.
What hurts your ADT
- Short, inconsistent visits
- Playing without your card
- Small bets with long gaps
- Playing across multiple properties without consistency
On a cruise, the rules can differ, because many cruise casinos average your play across the whole sailing. See Casino Cruise Players: Your Offers Are Based on Theo, Not Losses.
